2025 Raffle Donations
With thanks to generous donations - we successfully ran a raffle to fundraise for Team Australia in 2025.
ARABIE DAM, SOUTH AFRICA
The team arrived in South Africa and pre-fished another regional Dam called Loskop. A few of the local guys were recruited to help them out fishing on their tournament boats and the supply of biltong for snacks. The Aussie Team won the guys over so well that they cheered them on throughout the whole tournament - you can’t help but love our Aussie spirit! Because of such a great finish in Italy, the team consisted again of Mitchell Cone, Kris Hickson, Matthew Langford, Tommy Wood, Mick Johnson, and Braden Schuch.
Day 1 saw Australia finish in third place, with bag weights of 6.85kg, 5.96kg, and 7.03 kg.
Day 2 had Australia holding on to third place. Cone & Langford got 6.85kg, Schuch & Johnson got 5.95kg and Hickson & Wood got a 9.00kg bag (the second biggest bag weighed on Day 2.
Day 3 was classically nerve wrecking! The format was a little different with all the teams gathering for the closing ceremony BEFORE getting a result. This meant hours of waiting and wondering. Their bag weights were smaller overall - Cone & Langford had 4.67kg, Schuch & Johnson got a needed 6.04kg and Hickson & Wood ended the final day with 5.23kg. They achieved a 3rd place podium finish!
In the individual rankings, Hickson and Wood finished in fourth place which was a happy surprise.
